Did You Know that Mosquitoes Have 47 teeth?

According to Isaac Asimov's Book of Facts, the average mosquito has 47 teeth.

The mouth part of a mosquito is called a proboscis containing a fascicle with cutting edges(stylets). It is made up of 6 main parts with 4 sets of sharp cutting forms and 2 tubes.

The author Asimov referred to as "teeth" are actually 47 cutting edges(stylets) analogous to animal incisors.  The stylets pierce the skin of animals and humans for the tubes to gain access. There are 2 tubes, one is for injecting the anticoagulant and the other for sucking the blood up.
